It's slower than a hand grinder on coarse grind, and abysmally slow on fine grind, do not buy this for fine grind. However it does work, and if you don't want to hand grind it's a good cheap option.

My intent with this coffee grinder was to grind herbs into fine powder. It was still kind of coarse at its finest setting, but it's good enough!
